Rade D. Paravina, DDS, MS, PhD, is Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics and Director of the John M. Powers Center for Biomaterials and Biomimetics at UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, USA. An internationally recognized expert in color science and esthetic dentistry, he has authored four books, over 20 book chapters, and more than 320 peer-reviewed publications, cited over 13,000 times. He is President of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, Fellow of AAED, SCAD, and AADOCR, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry.
The lecture Color in Dentistry: Problems and Solutions reviews contemporary concepts of color science in dentistry and their clinical application for achieving predictable esthetic outcomes. Emphasis will be placed on shade matching techniques, translucency, material selection, and the “chameleon effect” in resin composites, with practical recommendations for daily practice. Modern evidence-based approaches for understanding the optical behavior of new dental materials will be presented, aiming to improve functional esthetics and clinical decision-making.

Expert recunoscut internațional în știința culorii și stomatologia estetică, este autor a patru cărți, a peste 20 de capitole de carte și a peste 320 de articole științifice publicate în reviste peer-review, citate de peste 13.000 de ori. Prelegerea Culoarea în stomatologie: probleme și soluții prezintă conceptele contemporane ale științei culorii în medicina dentară și aplicarea lor clinică pentru obținerea unor rezultate estetice predictibile. Vor fi abordate tehnicile de determinare a culorii, translucența, selecția materialelor și „efectul cameleon” al compozitelor, cu recomandări practice pentru activitatea clinică zilnică. Vor fi prezentate abordări moderne, bazate pe dovezi, privind comportamentul optic al noilor materiale dentare, cu scopul de a îmbunătăți estetica funcțională și decizia clinică.
